Default Rubber boot help

Hello all, I just bought my first '85 corvette as a project car. The guy who sold it to me gave me this rubber boot. He said he had installed a brand new clutch and slave cylinder and that this rubber boot protected crap from the road from getting into the clutch/cylinder. Can anyone help me find where this piece has to go? I know this is sort of ambiguous but I could really use any help I can get. The boot is sort of L shaped, it has soft black rubber, about 4 or 5 inches long, 3 inches wide. Its tubular shaped, sort of an L shaped cylinder.
I will try to post a picture when I get home. Thanks for any help

it would be down on the right side of your transmission bell housing, you will probably need to raise your car and get under it to see it. hope this helps
