Default Rear axle gear change.

Hi everyone. I just got a 1994 corvette last month and dont like the 2.59 rear gear ratio on my a4 vette. I want to change to 3.54 gears. Question is I saw that the Hypertec programer can reprogram spedo changes for this. They list it is for 2.59, 3.07,3.45, 3.70, 4.11, & 4.56 gears. I see that 3.54 gears are not listed on there. Will the setting for 3.45 be close enough? Will not reprograming the spedo do anything else to the way the engine runs. I heard it will but what will it actually do? Thanks for the info.

You will really enjoy the car after the swap , the 2.6 ratio is just stupid. 3.45 is maybe a typo , however it will be close enough.. its within 3% of the "true" speed.

3.45 was a common factory ratio with the ZF6 trans

On the 94 the coumputer controlls the speedo and hypertech is expensive just to fix that. Look at Tunercat and the cables for them, probably less money and you can change just what you want to change and nothing else.

Whet down the hypertech route early on and now it sits in my junk pile. If you do end up doing other mods Tunercat will be a better solution for you.

Thanks for the info. I did see hypertech programers used on ebay for around $100. New I saw them for $400. I will look into the Tunercat.
