Default Insulon for Headers?

I found out about this technology in a technical magazine. It looks like a good solution to keeping the heat in headers and insulating them from the surrounding area. I wonder if it's practical for that application.

I bet it's stupid expensive. I'd also bet that it was developed for government contractor use, therefor three times what it should cost.

Why not just get your headers Jet Hot coated?
Probably a whole lot cheaper, and effective at cutting down on under hood heat.

There was an aerogel product mentioned in the race section that may also work well. For coatings go with Swain tech.
