what is going on when you take off and it is time for your car to shift and it doesn't then all of a sudden it SMACKS into gear does shift into any others

Im starting to regret not getting a newer vette with the 6 speed. I finally got my 1-2 WOT shift fixed, but now my 2-3 is at 4k and my kick down at 60mph only goes into 3rd gear. Obviously it is still not fixed. :(

Could be any number of things, either the tranny is about to go or somethin inside is (clutch packs, a spring or somethin) or the TV cable needs adjusting
