Default Super ram question

Looking to buy super ram plenum and runners, my question is if I can put this on a stock motor and have the computer behave without a reprogram of the chip.

If you are only adding the superram, you will not need a computer re-program.

As Vic said you should be ok. You may want to look into installing an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. The car 'might' run a little lean with all of the added air. :)

Agreed. I DID this for a few weeks while awaiting the new motor.

You'll find it doesn't pull any HARDER, it just pulls LONGER (Longer=faster, btw)

That door you have at 4500 rpm goes away. You can develop good power up to 5800-6000 rpm. (Keep in mind the REST of your motor, e.g. the valve springs, might not like a lot of this)

You dont need a reprogram unless you change the cam.

I am about to cross this bridge. I am currently researching cams to install with my SuperRam. I am looking for suggestions on chip programmers houses or individuals. I'm not looking to become a programmer, I get enough of computer at work.
Thanks,
Glassman89

If you need help w/ the Super Ram give me a holler. I installed mine myself, wasn't that bad. Infact, I'm selling my C4 and pulling off the Super Ram and will be selling it to my rommate.

I think you could get by without a new chip, but it would help.... you're adding air potential, you should up the fuel and spark curve. Fuel pressure alone shouldn't be used to compensate for the additional air and rpm your motor now has.

I think the reason an L98 doesn't run much better than the stock runners on a stock motor is the cam.... it is not designed to make any power whatsoever over 5000 rpm. The heads can flow up their though.... they're not optimized stock, but they can still easily go up their and make a bit of power.

I think easily the best chips for a Superram is Formato chips. They used to burn all of TPIS chips for them and they still do some chip burning for Lingenfelter Performance Engineering. They have a LOT of experience with the Superram.

good luck
