How difficult is it to swap out the gears? Is is something best left to a shop or can I do it myself? If I do need to go to a shop, can anyone recommend a good one? I live in Santa Barbara, CA (80 miles north of Los Angeles for the non locals). Thanks!!
Yes you can do it yourself but can take time to get right if you haven't done one before;
do it wrong and you will have problems
Most would advise pulling the diff head out yourself ( saves labor cost ) and getting a shop to setup the new gears
Check the for sale section here today. Another member is selling a low mile D36 with 3.07 gears at a decent price. You won't need the batwing as it is the same as what you have, so shipping isn't that bad,
Thanks for the heads up, aminnich. I sent him a PM. I think that will be my best bet; I am sure I can replace the whole carrier on my own. Or is there anything I should be looking out for?

If you have a different Gear ratio I have the gear you need they are hard to find. Let me know.
How much do you want for the gear set? I'm trying to keep this under $500 if possible. Let me know. Thanks.

I meant if you buy the used diff with the 3.07 gear and are running a different ratio now I have the speed sensor plastic gear you need. BTW rep[lacing the Carrier is pretty easy just time consuming. There are some good write ups on the subject. If i can find one ill post it up for you.
Here is a good one by raidmagic. If you are not in a hurry you can find good ones here. People are always swapping the 307s for bigger and sell them pretty cheap. I got a 307 with low miles for $300. http://www.digitalcorvettes.com/foru...highlight=rear
I've been trying to find the RPO's for that car, but none of the dealers have that info. Is there anyone here who could help me out or point me in the right direction? Thanks a ton, guys. I really do appreciate all the help!
If the car has the original console lid look on the inside of the lid for a tag. If there, it should have all the option codes and if you see G92 it has the 3.07 axle if not probably a 2.59.
