Default Codes

Ive been down a long dark road with my '93 coupe. New fuel sending unit, fuel pump, power steering pump, new opti from GM, w/MSD cap, rotor, and air intake on the opti less the 200 miles ago. This car has never been the same since it sat up for 2 years w/ a bad opti, and no $ to repair it. The Service ABS, and Seervice ASR came on as soon as put a good battery in it after the storage, and has not gome out since. So I shorted pins A & G.I never could find module 9 to clear it. But I'm getting codes C-12,H-32,H34,H36,H38,H41, H54. I recognize some of these as opti related.
Any overview or advice appreciated.

The codes that start with H are history codes. Those may be items that you have already fixed.

The C12 code is No distributor pulses. Are you sure that the coil is good? If you have a new opti you should make sure that the coil is sending current to the distributor.

There is no Code 12. If you get code 12, all is well. You might want to clear the other codes.

Do you have a FSM, if not stop. Get one, then proceed. Otherwise, your peeing into the wind.

With as much stuff as you replaced and as much stuff that could be going on. You need to start at square one and work each problem separately.

FYI - Code C12 means that you have established communications with the ECM. Getting a code 12 is really good, not getting one would mean major problems like a brain dead car.

Sorry for my response...my mind was somewhere else....probably in OBDII mode. 12 is normal for your car.

Code 12 means the engine is not running... No distributor reference pulses.

The reference pulses come from the ignition module. The ECM needs them to synchronize the fuel injectors.

First off this is why nothing gets fixed on Corvette Forum. The OP has a 93. Misinformation is aplenty on here at times, no need for more.

IF he has code 12 from the ECM this is a normal check code ONLY. There is NO Ignition Module reference pulse to ECM.
There is a high and low resolution signal to ECM from Opti-Spark. IF those dropped out a code 16, 36 could result. If the ECM lost circuit 423 to the ICM, then codes 41, 42 could result.

The ECM controls the ICM thru circuit 423 with an output from the ECM.

I got the stinking FSM right in front of me!!! This is a LT1 not a L98.

To OP: if you read this please PM me, I can help walk you thru any info you need.

I do have a FSM. I seem to get better information here.
So there is no way to clear the history codes?
Lots of good information! Sorry if my original post is unclear, the problem I wish to solve is the Service ABS and Service ASR both stay on all the time. I found instructions how to reset it, but I do not find Module 9 on the insturment display. What am I missing? Does the absence of Mod. 9 mean that module is defective?
THANKS
