Default Interior lights

The interior light are all staying on in my 1990 c4. Rather than just pulling the fuses, I would like to sort the problem. Where do I start? Is there a common problem with them? Needless to say this is killing the battery.

You may want to check the door switches.
They are the black buttons under the door latches and hatch release.
With the door open push in and see if the lights go out.
One or both may have broken.
They are easily replaced and come over extended to allow them to be set to the proper distance when closed for the first time.

The corner broke off the hatch light switch on my 93 and I had to turn it around so the lights would go out. I need to replace it but so far its working.
