1984 Corvette LT1 Swap
Hi guys! I'm new to this forum. I've had my Vette for about a year and a half now. The motor I got it with (some random 350 crate motor bought in 2007 or 2008) finally blew, I picked myself up a 1996 LT1 with the computer and the wiring harness.
I'm a 19 year old computer tech (schooling for computer engineering) so I'm not some average dult screwing around where he shouldn't, but I don't have quite the background with mechanics that I do with tech.
Anyway, I've done enough research to know the swap is doable and that the motor will mate right up to my AT. Does anyone know if the 1984 Z51's came with the 700r4 or the 4L60E? From my understanding, the 4L60E was a later model AT, but I want to be sure.
Also, I am about to start researching which headers will fit best. While I am searching, was wondering if anyone has had any past experience with this to help me along a little faster on this project. (OIT takes up many hours of my time).
