I don't think you'll see any performance increase in a stock engine.
Water/Methanol injection is used for high compression and/or forced induction engines to keep detonation in check.
It allows for higher compression, higher boost, timing, etc. than you would normally be able to get away with.
This is where the extra performance comes from.

I Kinda expected that, Guess its back to pouring rubbing alcohol in the gas tank
its becoming popular with turbo charged gas and diesel engines, you see it more and more in big trucks.. Back in the day, gas stations used to add water to their storage tanks for more profit. the companies that sell the systems seem to have found a way to make that work in an on the vehicle setting, in big trucks , it reduces detonation and vaporizes the fuel better, which gives them better fuel mileage (they claim) I don't have any personal experience with it . hope this helps. BTW. theres a lot of tech on it , do a search
had a dove system on my Z, came on just over 3/4 throttle.
All it does is cool down the intake charge a tiny bit to help with detonation. It adds no noticeable power.
Do NOT run methanol in an NA deal unless its tuned for it you could lose a motor real easy to it.
Most those NA deals simply use 50/50 windshield washer fluid and water.
It sure helped but its not a real power mod. With a small cam 11:1 compresion and 91 gas it was needed. You need a large reservoir too if youre playing youll go through it quick.
In other words, pass.
oops wanted to add the solution to getting around pinging was to run a cool T stat and have the fans come on earlier. In super hot weather just didnt lug it or give it WOT that kit wouldnt have been necessary.

Good advice Thank you. I must say it seems odd to spray "water" down my intake. Saved me a ton of work....CURSE YOU HORSEPOWER TV!
It's how the Brits beat the ***** back in the big one so it's been around forever (and in and out of favor). You're not flying a Spitfire, so without mods, you don't need it. You're combustion temps at Cruise are controlled with EGR. The OEM's could have used water, but since you'd have to replenish it, they'd probably have a bunch of motors grenade under warranty.
One thing that they didn't say about the P-47 on that tv show was that it had an exhaust driven turbo. Most planes of that era that had crank driven turbo superchargers.
I saw the same episode on the powerblock... if they were not lying, I was impressed to see the motor, match horspower of 116 octane, with meth and 93 on a NA motor.
