1986 Corvette dash rebuild and associated problems
I recently rebuilt the dash on my '86. I used the Batee instructions that were sent to me by a friend on here.
It started out years ago with the typical problems...intermittency, and of course the instinctive hit the dash remedy to temporarily cure it. Eventually, it just quit altogether about a year or two ago.
The recent rebuild, included all new bulbs, and the extra ground wire installation.
I hooked it up last night, and it will come on at times when I jiggle the turn indicator, but it will not stay on. The turn blinkers and high beam indicator function fine, and are not abnormally intense.
As with just about every other problem I seem to have Corvette related, and otherwise, it seems to have a ground problem of some sort.
Any tips or advice on where to start troubleshooting? I don't plan to send this out for repair.
Thanks!
A quick question...If I can get to that spot, are the grounds long enough that I'll be able to clean them from the top of the engine?
Thanks again!
