Lilred has a piece cut out of her fan shroud, and it feeds air into the hood and then air cleaner, I don't know if she has taken any pics of it or not, but I can take some when I see her tonight and also find out if she noticed any improvements in gas mileage, 1/4, etc after it was done.
I didn't notice any significant difference. Well except now my car picks up plastic bags like crazy. There's a hole on the underside of your hood... line it up with where it is on the fan shroud and cut it out. Seal it with window weather stripping. Be sure before you put hte weather stripping down to put a filter <screen> across there or be ready to overheat. You'll need to clean your filter a little more often than you do now. Good luck, I'll have Isaac take pics tonight. Let me know what you think.

I did the mod too. No SOTP improvement, about 1/10 second quicker in the 1/4 mile by my best measurement. The shroud is a definite obstruction. Three 3" holes from a hole saw and it's done. You have to tackle it from underneath, but it's a 5 minute mod.
Thanks i had heard of this method before and have actually tried but got discouraged after 30 min of tring to find a good tool to cut it !! i thought maybe there was another mod i could do !! Is there anything other than that <that i can do to make my 84 vette (auto ) faster ?
