I have it planned to do my injectors next weekend, When I have the top apart do you think that I should change the spark plugs so that new injectors will have new spark? I may change the cap and rotor aswell. Can you guys give me a heads up on what eles to change since I'll be in there.
1. Is there any plug thats better then others for the L98
2. should I order a delco cap and rotor? or will napa be ok?
3. Do you think a K&N air filter is worth the money?
I already use mobil 1 in all my cars except air cooled
My car is a 1990 vert
Thanks a lot
Jim

When I changed the injectors in my 91, I changed the plugs, wires, cap and rotor. I decided to do it just to do most of the initial tune up (then again I just bought the vehicle at that time, so did it in case it was a while since it was last done).
I have a Duralast cap/rotor in it now. Haven't had any issues with it, but it's only been on for about 4-5 months.
The stock copper core AC Delco plugs or similar plug will work fine. Keep in mind, all a spark plug does is create an arc. Don't waste money on the expensive "gimmick" plugs.
AC Delco platinum plugs used to have a problem with the platinum pucks getting blown off. This meant that you've spent a ton of money to have a standard plug with a larger than optimal gap. Other brands of platiums and irridiums seem to work well, but are they worth the money? You're not going to get any more power out of them. All you might gain is extra life.
I really like NGK plugs, I run the TR55 in my LT1. I've had good luck with the AC Delco R44LTS as well. Both good solid standard plugs. I'm betting your TPI though uses a different plug but I wouldn't swear to it.
I can't answer your question about the cap and rotor as my car doesn't use them.
For the K&N filter.... I have one and I really like it. It also gains me horsepower on my modified LT1. On an otherwise stock car though, there is no horsepower to be had. The only thing you would gain by the K&N is that you wouldn't have to replace it, you can wash it and re-use it. There is a big debate as to if they filter as well as a paper filter as well. With this in mind, for a stocker, I'd say it's not worth the $$
