Default fuel pump question

Well I went to start my 383 for the first time today and ran into a bit of a problem. I put a mechanical oil pressure gauge in. Well I wasnt thinking that the computer has to have that sender to let the fuel pump turn on. My question is, is there any way to by pass this? and/or put the pump to a switch instead?

Need full story on your engine swap
What induction?

If you have done a carb conversion then you need to wire the relay to the Ign switch
so it gets power to run the pump

The computer runs the pump relay by itself without any input from the OP switch.
Op switch runs the pump direct passing the relay as a backup to the relay

I used the tpi for a sleeper look to the motor. Ok so I was told wrong then. Does the computer need to read oil pressure to let the injectors fire?

Two different issues
Pump run or injector fire; which do you have?
In any case no reason not to install a T piece so you can have gauge and OP switch in place

Sorry didn't want to confuse anything. I was just curious about the injectors. Thanks for everyone's help. Should have her running tomorrow
