A friend of mine knows a guy who has a D44 that is leaking fluid. Of course it eventually needs to be taken apart and sealed up, but in the short term he's just gonna add some fluid (very slow leak). He's curious what it takes to get the fill plug out. Is it like the trans which is a large allen socket or is it something else? He wants to make sure he has the tools before he tells the guy he can do it.
I've never had reason to touch mine so I don't know!

Thanks in advance.
Can't swear they are all the same but I'm pretty sure mine is just a 3/8" allen plug. Not a lot of clearance there so a socket may not work but a regular allen wrench should fit.
Awesome, I was thinking it wasn't anything too crazy. I've never taken it out but I've certainly been under the car enough, I've seen it a few times. I just hate to rely on my memory too much.

Wait until you are my age, you need a cheat sheet when someone asks you your name.
