Default Dyno Results

This dyno sheet shows the GS pull (blue line) with my old 2000 C5 coupe's best pull (red Line). As you can see the GS has more power! :D
the 2000 was all stock but for the vortex ram air and the corsa indy cat back. Fan on for that pull as well.

Here is the dyno sheet with the GS pulls, only!
The guy running the shop thought my car was a little lean... What do you think?

What exactly has been done to the GS? I've got a cam and headers and don't make that much power. Stock heads though.

Your a/f looks very good to me. No holes, no spikes.....in fact you're running right around stoich at low rpms. You could lean it out a tad down low (around 2k) and pick up some response......although it's very hard to tell from that graph...so I could be wrong.

I checked out your sig and found this part to be interesting:

Long Tubes and no cats 357RWHP 354RWTQ /// Shorties and stock cats 354RWHP 353RWTQ

Am I reading this correct? You are making the same power through long tubes and no cats as with shorties and stock cats? Is that the only thing that was changed between the two dyno sessions? If so, you have confirmed what I have always suspected, that shorties and cats don't slow you down.

I'd like to see how it would run with the stock exhaust manifolds. That's what I am running in my Dad's car (check the sig).

I had a small typo in the sig... I fixed it. I have several dyno pulls with the Long tubes and NO cats and the best was 357rwhp and 342 rwtq.

The typo was 354 rwtq when it should have been 342rwtq

With the shorties and STOCK GM cats... I pulled 354rwhp and 352rwtq....

Also, the long tube pulls were done at Dynotec Motor Sports INC / DynoJet model 248E, while the shorties were done at Springfield Motorsport / Dynojet Model 248C. I need to get on the Dynotect Motor Sports 248E dyno for some real results to compair. There is always +- some hp from dyno to dyno, but whatever the case I couldn't feel any difference.

the only thing that I could tell was the car was 1000000 times quieter!!! :D Those long tubes with NO cats would make your ears hurt after a while.

I'm not real sure what the deal may be, but I picked up a solid 23 hp and 32 pounds of torque by going with long tubes over my stock manifolds and cats. I've also seen many a people put shorties on a car just to have it pick up like 10 pounds of ultra low torque over long tubes but fall on it's face in the upper range.

Do you happen to know the specs for your cam? I'm just curious if it's fairly mild or if it's pretty radical. I ask because I make 345 pounds of torque on stock heads. If your cam is milder than mine, maybe that's why it does better with the shorties.

Nevermind I found the specs

211/219 .530/.560 112 LSA

My hot cam is 218/228 .525/.525 LSA. I would assume that the longer exhaust duration is why I saw such in increase with headers. But then again I don't know everything about engine dynamics, that's just my guess.

I hope to find out pretty soon. A friend of mine has a 93 Z-28 with the LT4 hot cam, shorties and no cat. It will be very interesting to see what kind of power he throws down on the dyno so I can see how it will compare to my car with the long tubes. I'm guessing he'll make a little more low end, but he won't have the power jump at 4500 rpm's that mine does.
