Two questions for you. First does a 4+3 transmission have a tv cable? second what would I need to check to find out why my car is all of the sudden flooded and how do I check stored codes. Thanks
84 and 85 use a TV cable, 86 through 88 do not. If I remember right the codes can be gotten by jumping 2 terminals on the ALDL connector. Use something like a paperclip to do it.
I think the two terminals are the two rightmost in the upper row. I forget right now. The SES light will blick twice, then blick a few times (count them), blink a few times (count them), then blink twice. Thsoe ones you counted put together are the code(s).
Is the tv cable very hard to repace yourself? Looking at my Haynes manual it doesn't seem to difficult. Any ideas as to what would cause my car to all of the sudden be flooded? Trying to figure these problems out and maybe not have to take it to a shop, since I just spent $1100.00 last week haveing the clutch, oil leaks and overdive fluid and gasket changed. Thanks for all your help
The SES light will blick twice, then blick a few times (count them), blink a few times (count them), then blink twice. Thsoe ones you counted put together are the code(s).
The codes will blink three times. At first you will get one blink two blinks, one blink two blinks, one blink two blinks, then your stored trouble codes, then one blink two blinks, one blink two blinks, one blink two blinks (12, 12, 12, ??, ??, ??, 12, 12, 12). 12 is the check digit. You may have more than one series of codes, all of these will be between the 12's.
