Lowering the Front - How much to remove from bracket
I am lowering the front suspension and need to trim the aluminum brackets so they work properly but I'm not sure how much to trim them. My measurements tell me about 0.375" but I was wondering if someone had some experience with this. I have an LHA spring if it makes a difference. Thanks
Theres a bunch of us that have lowered our vette's , front and rear, but I searched and didnt find any reference to triming the aluminum brackets. which brackets are you going to trim?

Once the new lowering wedge is in place the alum spring retainer won't clamp the spring up tight so it needs trimming by at least the height difference between old wedge and new
In one post a member used a rubber packer underneath the spring to make up the gap instead of cutting the retainer down
Good way also on the early cars that had the steel spring retainer that needs cutting and welding unless you convert to the later style alum retainer
