I went to start my 85 today after it's been sitting for a while because of winter. It started, but slowly because the battery was low. I moved it out of the garage and all was fine. I then shut off the ignition. I left the doors open for about 30 minutes while I cleaned it out. When I went to start it an hour later, the battery needed a charge. It was almost dead. I put it on a charger for another hour. When I then tried to start it, it quickly turned right over, but stalled about 3 times after running only a few seconds on each try. It NEVER stalls normally. Even when cold. The 4th time I tried to start it, it quickly turned right over and ran fine. I drove it around the block a few times and no missing, no hesitation, no smoke, no check engine light. Plenty of power! What could have been the problem?

Reason: typo
Once when I had an old battery & my Vette had sat for several months, I had a very hard time getting the car to stay running without a jumped battery connected to it. This condition persisted until that battery was charged up enough to start the car on its own and keep it running. I solved my problem by purchasing a new Delco battery and a Battery Tender Plus. I have never had a battery problem since.
with 383vett, you should have charged it longer. Once it is charged up. Check the battery the next day to see if it held the charge. You may have to replace the battery.
If the battery is to low it can cause problems with the computer.

That did it! I put a full charge on it overnight. It only took half a crank and it fired right up. Strong and powerful once again! Thanks guys.
