Default Vette Stumbles.....

So almost ever since i bought this thing, theres been something..... i love the car though so dont jump to conclusions. I have a '94 LT1 Six Spd, on to the problem:
for as long as i can remember now, it would stumble sometimes, not all the time, under acceleration, didn't matter how hard or normal id accelerate, and it would just have a lack of power. someone told me opti, and it sounded believable, car has almost 75k on it and no record of ever getting an opti. so i started planing an opti and waterpump, i figured i'd do plugs and wires too, while i was in there, and i ended up putting a coil in it too.
so now i got a new distributor, plugs, wires, coil, waterpump and thermostat (runs nice and cool now ) but the sucker still stumbles at times, less than it used to but still, mostly in 2nd gear, and obviously there was nothing wrong with the previous opti..... idk where to look now, it's got all new injectors due to a failure last year that involved a couple leaky injectors, it's got a new fuel pump due a misdiagnosis of the prior explanation. any help would be appreciated.

Welcome to owning an LT1. People who don't know anything will blame a flat tire on the opti.

Does it ever set a service engine light?

Throttle position sensor, seems very unlikely. Do you have any friends at a shop who can scan the computer and possibly data log it. If you could catch it in the act you might could see if it is a sensor problem.

Yeah I wish, I didn't think it'd be the tps, but it was just something I heard a while back. I've been looking into tuning software, cuz is like to do that too, but its gonna be awhile before I can get into that.....Damn bills

Looks like you will be traveling down the same road that countless others have trodden--the "my LT-1 is missing road". There is no definitive answer to this and the most frustrating thing is that the car can really be running crummy and still not throw any codes (at least that was the story with mine). The problem can even be something not ignition related like a dirty fuel filter or a fuel pump that is about to die.

Good luck with your search--many more came before you and I am sure others will follow.

I have the same problem with my 96. Under acceleration, or even going over a bump sometimes, it would cut out completely (all electronics & the engine would stop for a few seconds). Eventually, I was left stranded when it wouldn't turn over all of a sudden. I think my problem may be a bad connection with the ignition switch (guessing). I ordered a new one, and will be installing it soon. Has anyone replaced the ignition switch? The FSM says to remove the steering column, and I'm curious if there is a shortcut.
