Anyone ever looked in to replacing the ZF with a Jerico, or similar road race transmission in a c4? Unfortunatly worn out ZF's are not worth repairing due to the cost of parts. Would love to have a lighter, maybe clutchless transmission in my track car.

Then you have to figure out how to hang it...the C-beam is useless for that trans.
P.S. If you get ZFDoc to do a full-blown ORR upgrade on your ZF6...it'll hold nearly anything you throw at it. Rick Doria had one in his C4 Open Road Race 240 MPH car for years. He'd send it to Bill every winter to look at it. It never needed a thing done to it. Having the external oiling pump, filter and cooler has a lot to do with that.

Reason: typo...

That would bee cool for sure. I talked to Bill the other day. I have a new ZF which he said he can blueprint for a decent price. Just wish I could rebuild these used ones affordably. You can buy a Jerico cheaper than rebuiling a ZF. Looks like I have a coulple of very heavy boat anchors.

One the one hand you COULD get a Jericho cheaper...
But add in the cost for getting a new bell housing to fit the trans, the cost to fab a new support structure for the tail housing (AND the front of the D44), etc. and you'll be WAY more.
When I talked to Bill, we were going to do a swap...he uses new cases for the SD/SDORR units, and I have 3 complete black tags that are useable for parts. I think I was down around $2500 for him to build me a SDORR trans with the exchange...
Can't get a (new) Jericho for anywhere close to that.
I think Bill said Doria was pushing 800+ HP through his...with ZERO wear on any internal components.
I'm gonna stick with the ZF...clutchless would be nice but they run $15k-$20k...and if I was spending that kind of money I'd get a new Z07.
