Rear gear ratios?

I've heard the same "rumor" but more than likely there was an excess of the 3.54 builds from '89 and the decision was made to use the excess in the '90 MY builds. The 3.54 build was an original build in '89 and there was NO 3.45!
You mention "switch suppliers"? Both are Dana builds! Who was the alternative supplier?
'89 MY CAFE requirement was 26.5 I believe, in '90 that changed to 27.5 and the 3.45 change I'm assuming was meant to get the entire GM production a little closer to the standard.
I've a GM 3.54 NOS gear if someone is needing! Not inexpensive but NOS!
