I have a 96 LT4 that is having some problems with the information on the LCD display. You can't see the display unless the lights are on. The speedometer has stopped working... It always reads zero. Also, the trip computer information has stopped working; it won't show mpg or miles traveled on that trip. The only thing that does work on the display when the lights are on is the fuel level and the total miles on the car. I have been chasing the electrical system in the car for months and even had the CCM tested to make sure it wasn't causing the problems. If anyone has some ideas, I would greatly appreciate it. The car runs and drives great other than the problems I just listed. Thanks
the lights work? there is a transistor on a wierd looking heatsink, tucked way up by the steering tube, under the dash... these can be fried, and are hard to find... but I thought the lights went out when it went too.... do the dimmer lights work?
wait... this sounds like the VSS signal... check the speed sensor on the trans! follow it up from there.... you are missing the vss (vehicle speed sensor). its a 2000ppm signal and a 4000ppm signal (if i remember right)
need more coffee... but i think that is your issue
