Default C4 Cooling problems and more

Have recently pulled my 96 LT4 out of storage and now have some problems with cooling. the cooling fan(s) do not come on even when the temp gets over 220. Also, fan nor compressor come on when selecting AC. I see there are 2 relays on the drivers side next to the radiator that appear to control the fans. Which relay controls witch fan. And now, last night, the Break Preasure light came on. No obvious loss of breaking power but it must mean something. Thanks for any help. aj

Fuses blown??

all electrical issue are what you are describing.

Fuses blown or "fusible links" have broken

I would check fuses as stated. For the brakes, check the brake fluid level at the MC. Just because you don't see a leak doesn't mean there isn't one.

All fuses and links are fine. As is the break fluid level.

220 at the digital?

Don't worry about the relays, they don't typically go bad just sitting around, but connections do, they corrode! in fact all of your problems could be related to poor connections. I would begin with connector/Ground inspections and clean up. Then go from there.

IF you did already check all the fusable links under the battery box, and did check all the power distribution wire connections at the battery where they all mount, and IF you checked the ground bundle on the block, then I'd say get the FSM and DVM out and start with the trouble tree and diagnose according to instruction for each issue.

Was the car stored?

winter storage...hmmmm animals in the wiring. Rats and mice love plastic insulation on wire. Bugs get inside modules and relays. Storage has more possible problems than leaving a car out in the elements sometimes.

My fusible link was the low part of a wire that went to the starter.....

You had to crawl under the care and physically inspect the wire to see that it had corroded and broken over 27 years....

Once you find the circuit that is malfunctioning, then it's tracing the actual wire that will net you the results....other wise you are just hunting in a nest of wires for one that possibly is broken....
