cracked top

i have an 88 top that has a decent crack in it. is there any type of glue that i can use to keep it from spreading? i am planning on covering it with vinyl carbon fiber. a friend did his and it looks awsome. i just want something that will bond the crack before covering.

You are probably best to use fiberglass resin. Sand down the area, use the resin and hardener, then when it dries you can sand it down. Then you can apply your covering.
