Default please help

I need help, I am trying to figure out which suspension is in my 85. Any input would be helpful. Thanks again. I already checked tons of rpo lists with no luck. I know it have fe1 or z51 for this year but not seeing it.

I can't find anything about an FE1 suspension for 85. It looks like the possibilities are FG3 and Z51. I don't see either of those on your list. I'm not sure why you think you either have FE1 or Z51; I suspect you have the standard (base) suspension.

A kinda long shot but in 85 the Z51 steering was 2 turns lock-to-lock. Standard suspension was 2 1/2 turns. Assuming your rack is original this will give you an indication.

As for fe1 it is the rpo for base suspension, and the prior owner had replaced the steering rack prior to purchase. Short of trying to measure the sway bar I ran out of ideas. Just thought that maybe I was overlooking one of the codes or miss identifying it.

I have an 85 Z51.

Get a vernier caliper and get under the car and measure the swaybars.

if you have a Z51 your bars are F30mm and R24mm
if you have an FE1 they are F24mm and R20mm.

All Z51 cars came with pie plate wheels that are 9.5 inches wide. Best unknown secret to racers on the cheap even though their ugly. They were also designed by Enkei. Just a stupid tidbit lol.

Sway bar measured 26mm, how would you measure the rim short of taking off the tire? The tires were all the same size that year

^^Your tire store has a tool for measuring......BUT if you can run a measuring device through the inside of the rim and just measure the width....

Will try tomorrow after I get off the boat, I had figured it would be to tight going through the saw blade. Hope I can to figure this out. Thanks for the thought.

Saw blade? If you have saw blades on your car they are not the stock wheels. You should have pie plate wheels.

Saw blades also do not fit on your car without spacers. There's no use measuring them they won't tell you what you want. If you don't have that 30mm bar on the front you have a stock suspensioned car unless someone swapped it out.
