I don't have a sound clip unfortunately. A good friend of mine has a 92 with a hot cam and long tubes. He has the factory cat back including the resonator. It sounds pretty good really. It has a healthy rumble but it's subdued. When you get on it it really sounds good. It's also dead quiet cruising, none of the resonance you get with my flowmasters.
His car is for all intents and purposes a duplicate of mine and he makes about 15-20 less HP. We're not sure if this is because of the extra mileage on his car, we modded his around 120k, mine started with mods at around 60k. Or if the the factory exhaust is that restrictive.
We have the same headers so we could easily swap "cat backs" and do some dyno tests, but the shop that we had free access to the dyno at closed up
Thanks my car also Flowmasters no resonator, way too loud at cruise, but sounds cool at idle & when getting on it. Prevouis owner gave me stock system it think im gonna try it out.I am having a hard time parting with another 1000 or so right now. There are not alot muffler options it seems. What about leaving x pipe on with stock mufflers,(no resonator)?
Any sound clips,96 lt4 hot cam, long tube headers,no cats,x pipe, stock mufflers??? has anyone tried this??
Mine is a 92 with an LT1 and a stock cam.
Just received my Stainless Works exhaust today.
No cats, x-pipe, chambered SW mufflers.
Still waiting on the Jet-Hot coated long tubes...
Probably looking at a couple of weeks before I can get everything installed and make a sound clip.
