Passive Key Entry (PKE) Module Broke

Passive Key Entry (PKE) Module Broke
THE PKE module on my 96 CE doesn't automatically lock or open the doors anymore, although it still opens the hatch back. The local Chevy dealer said that the transmitter is inoperative. I tried changing the battery, but it still doesn't work. The dealer said to plan on spending more than $100 for a new pad.
Is there anyway to fix these things or does anyone know where i can get a good deal on a new one?

Seems like that is common for PKE's :confused: , as mine did the same thing....first the proximity function went away, then i was unable to unlock the doors, and finally, last week, i am now unable to open the hatch w/the fob.

If you would like to sell the plastic case, I'll buy it. Mine broke, but the insides still work great.
