Default Drain for B-pillar cavity?

In the b-pillar, where the door latch striker is mounted, there's a cavity. There's a foam pad in this cavity, which can be seen and removed by removing the pressure relief vent in the B-pillar. On both sides of my car, the foam pads had some water in them, and some water pooling below the pads, in what appears to be an area lacking a drain. I can find no reference to this area in the service manual, but I'm sure it can't be good to have water sitting in here.

Anyone have any insight into this?

Not that particular water -trap...but there is plenty of discussion on the hatch glass corners at the B pillar where water tends to collect and sometimes drip into the ABS well...and cause all sorts of expensive trouble.

Thanks for the reply. I don't think there's any electronics in this area, I'm more concerned about corrosion... However, it does make me wonder where the water came from. My b-pillar weatherstripping is in terrible condition, so it's possible that it would explain the source...

I wouldn't call it a drain, but there is space for water to drain out of that area. I took the foam out when i had the wheel wells and lower rockers off and flushed (with a garden hose) the dirt and small rocks out that had accumulated in that area over the years.

OK, thanks. It must be like the hood latches, then, not a drain per se, but a space that is easily obstructed with debris. I'll give it a good rinse with the hose.
