Default 12" Rotors

Can someone tell me if 12" rotors and later brake calipers will fit an '86 with stock 16" rims? I have relatively new tires and do not plan on changing them.
thanks
Barrier :)

I'm a bit confused here. I think the stock brakes on an '86 use 12" rotors. So, I guess they fit with 16" stock rims. Maybe you are asking about upgrading to 13" rotors that came after I think '88 or so as the J55 option?

Thanks for the response.
Are my Rotors 12''?They are the stock '86 ones. Will newer style Calipers fit with the 16" stock rims?

Yes, they are 12" rotors. You can upgrade to the J55 13" rotors with 2 piston calipers. Or, you can upgrade to the C5 calipers/rotors. For the best braking bang for the buck I think the C5 is the way you want to go. But, you will need to convert to 17" rims I think. If you do any NCCC racing events you will be put into Group III race prepared/altered frame, which means you need a full roll cage. Now, if you simply upgrade to the J55 system you can stay in your original class. Either way figure on about $1000 to get you started on your conversion, ballpark figure there.

The C5 brakes won't fit in 17" Sawblades, they require the ZR1 wheels. I doubt they'd fit in 16".

What is it that you are trying to accomplish?
