Default Modifying Corsa System 14115

Ordered and received a Corsa System for my 1990 convertible. As I have read on this forum, and honestly could not believe, the inner tailpipes are dummies. I was disappointed that for the cost of the system that they could not make it so all 4 were functional. This is going to require that the pipes be cleaned almost weekly so I do not have 1 polished and 1 blackened on each side.
Has anyone cut the non-functional tailpipes off, drilled a hole into the muffler, and re-welded the pipe on?
Did it affect the sound and cause any droning?

Been discussed numerous times, including photos of the inside of the muffler.

The outer tips are functional, not dummies. There is a disc in front of the exit and a minor amount of exhaust gas escapes around the side. Nonetheless, if the desire is to have 4 "evenly colored" exhaust tips, you will need to clean the inner ones frequently or you will need to paint the inside of all four tips black.

It's the price you pay for little or no resonance but a louder overall exhaust note. If you want a numbing drone, drill it out.

To reduce the drone, line the interior with Dynamat. You can do this much with a Dynamat 10435 Xtreme Door Kit (about $57 from Amazon.com). If its still too noisy, add a second layer:

Thank you for the input.

Regarding nutz4c4,
I do not live on this website evidently like you do and did not see anything regarding this question. I thought that this forum was for all people to ask questions.
I am glad that I was able to give you the opportunity to show everyone that you are all knowing and that most of us here are idiots.

There would be no benefit from having dual functional outlet pipes. Exhaust flow would be the same. The restriction is the single inlet.

Trust me, you will like the Corsa pipes.

2 outlets=no drone
4 outlets= drone

If you like some hard core drone, buy Flowmasters 40 series, Borla or Magnaflow.

I don't think that less than 1 post per day quailifies me as "Living on this Forum".... "As far as all knoowing"...I do not but if you had used the advanced search funtion you would have found all the info you needed ....And as far as redesinging an already proven product I would question your thoughts.I have some of that system on my stroker with long tube headers, xpipe, cats , true dual setup and there is no drone at any RPM ... If you want to Redesign a proven system be my guest..Just don't come back and bash a proven product...

The problem we run into is people don't take the time to use the search function. The forum is for Information and sharing but when we have to repeat ourselves over and over it gets old. And yes we are tired of it. As long as you have been a member here you would think you know that.
