Default Mightyvac and bleeding the ABS

I need to do a fluid change and have a couple of questions;
1) Does the Mightyvac do a good job?
2) How long does a complete fluid change take with the Mightyvac?
3) Does the fluid come through the ABS unit or does it have it's own bleeder?
The car is an '88.
Thanks

I flush my brakes the old fashion way, takes three people, one on the pedal, one watching the master cylinder and me working the wheel cylinders. The biggest part of flushing the brakes, for me, is putting the car on jackstands and pulling all the wheels, the actual flushing only takes ~2-3 minutes per wheel. So the MightyVac better do it in less than 10 minutes or what's the point.

For the ABS, on my 96 it takes a special scan tool to work the ABS valves. I don't have one, but I flush my brakes every two tears, I figure the fresh fluid will make it in as long as I keep switching the fluid.

I went the Speed Bleeder route. For about 28 bucks, install a set and you'll enjoy one-man brake bleeding jobs.

Once installed, you just turn the bleeder a quarter turn. Pumping the pedal increases the pressure on a spring-loaded ball bearing which allows fluid to flow. As soon as you let up on the pedal, the bearing seals the bleeder so no air enters the system.

Pretty simple stuff.

I too have heard of vacuum bleeders being harmful for not useful with ABS. HoweverI have a 92 with ABS and have been using the Mityvac for it and other vehicles, including the Jag,Toyata, Mustang and F350. In fact I just changed the vacuum booster and master cylinder yesterday and it took me about 45 minutes to bleed all 4 brakes.

The post directly above addressing the spring loaded valves is the first comment I have seen on these things and has opened my eyes to a shortcut.

I have done both. I will be staying w/ the speed bleeder approach. It is a one person operation, fast and easy. The mightyvac can be a pain to use.

when i do my brakes, i'm definatly buying some of those speed bleeders.

I just want to make sure i have the process down though..

1. Take everything apart, put in new stuff-blah-blah
2. Install speed bleeders..
3. Open bleeder on one wheel, pump brakes untill clean fluid comes out..close bleeder add more fluid to master cylinder
4. Repeat on each other wheel untill all are pushing out clean fluid on all corners..
5. Done??

Is it really that easy???

If so..
