Parking brake handle

I am new to this site. I recently purchased my first Corvette (1989 convertible); your site has been invaluable.

The parking brake cable was not connected to the handle. When I tried to connect it to the disc on the handle I found the the plastic disc broken where the cable end should attach. I've tried to buy a new handle from various sources, including Chevy, but no luck.

Any suggestions on how to repair the handle or solve the problem? Leaving the parking brake disconnected will not help me pass my next state inspection.

Try a Vette bone yard.
I just searched on Vette2Vette but found no parking brake parts.
Try ebay.

Hey there --

I've got a bunch. They were take-offs from Corvettes being turned into race cars in the late '80s. Been shelved ever since. Will get you pix tomorrow.
