'88 Making Noise When Off?
Today I just started my '88 for the first time since December. She sounds great and idled just fine. But after I shut the engine off I noticed a ticking noise every few seconds that sounds like its coming from under the plenum though I dont see what would be making noise from there-especially with the engine off. My egr is blocked off if that matters. Also my horns are unplugged. Could it be part of the vats system behind the dash making the noise? Any ideas?

Could it be the exhaust manifolds cooling off? Hot metal will occasionaly make a noise like you describe when cooling off or heating up from the expansion / contraction of the metal. Maybe check the exhaust bolts?

I actually just replaced the header bolts with locking stage 8s. I just have one bolt left on the passenger side(closest to the firewall) which is why I only let the car idle for a few seconds.
