Hi, I am a new member. I just picked up a 93 corvette pretty cheap which needs work. It runs and drives, but its running rich and idles high and the SES light is on. For some reason, the ALDL has been removed. I think I found the harness for it, but its been cut. It has 9 wires if I counted right, does anyone know which color wires represent which position on the ALDL? I have ordered some service manuals from helm, but would like to get a head start on this project this weekend and knowing which wires to short to read the code would be a big help.
So thanks to that wiring diagram, I got codes H74 from the CCM (Mod 1) and H15, H26, H43, and H66 from the ECM (mod 4). Not sure what to make of the H74, ran out of daylight so I will have to dig deeper tomorrow, I did see something on here about the radio, but it still has the stock radio...... H15 makes a lot of sense based on the symptoms. When I drove it home, it never really came up to temp, the gauge read about 130-140F and it is definately running rich. Dont have the FSM yet, but on other cars, the ECM looks for the car to come up to temp before going into closed loop. The car also would not start this evening and it was fairly cold out. This was a problem on a previous car I owned, are corvettes finicky in that way too? When I went to look at it, the guy had it stored in doors and it would fire right up (I did check to make sure it hadn't been "warmed up for me" before I got there. Is the thermostat mechanical? Probably going to have to wait for the FSM to dive into the other codes.
