Found the problem with my 88
First of all I like to thanks MarkLT1
MarkLT1 help me took out the passenger side cylinder head out today. One of the valve from #2 piston broke off. The broken valve head made some dent on the piston head and light dent on the cylinder head. MarkLT1 will post the pictures later for me, I don't know how :rolleyes:
Questions:
1) Do I need to take the engine out and rebuild the engine with all new parts. Pistons, rings...?
2) Can I just replace one piston with engine in place?
3) With the cost of a complete rebuild, would it be better to buy a crate engine?
4) Is there any other options?
My car: 1988 Z52, 145K miles, automatic, I guess it's time to rebuild
Anyone with a pickup truck I can borrow to carry the engine lift/engine stand from a rental place to my house:D?
