Stalling & Low Voltage at Idle
My 85 occassionally stalls (stops running). However, it cranks right back up and maybe OK for a while then stalls again. Each time, however, it cranks back up. Also, the voltage, when idling, oftens drops to around 11.5 volts. This is especially so when the AC and/or the headlights are on. What could be the problem?

Have you replaced your O2 sensor ever, and checked the volatge on the TPS?
On my 85,, replacing the O2 sensor made an immediate improvement. Then I reset the Throttle Position Sensor and it idles now at 690-720.

You could have an underdrive pulley set on your car. The voltage on mine with lights and fans drops to around 11.5 volts at idle. I have just an underdrive crank pulley. Low voltage affects injector pulse width, so that may be part of the stalling issue. Good Luck.

Thanks for the replies. I did reset the idle speed and reset the TPS to .54 voltage. So far things seem better. I have not driven much since setting these items, but the voltage readings, etc. do seem better.
