I purchased my 1992 Corvette with Edelbrock Performer shocks. While they make the car handle great while auto-x and playing around, they don't make for a very smooth ride while interstate driving/in-town driving.
If I were to go to a Bilstein HD or Bilstein Sport shock, would the ride quality for in-town and interstate increase dramatically? I've read a lot of people are happy with the Bilstein's, but a lot of what I see is them talking about how they perform auto-x/road racing.
Does anybody have experience with both shocks?
Also, don't get me wrong, I know that Corvette's are always going to have a bumpier ride than most cars, but from other C4's I've test drove, mine seems a little stiffer than normal. Unfortunately I never checked to see what kind of shocks the other C4's I test drove had.
Any thoughts on lower temperature thermostat. My 94LT1 run around 217• - 220• that's going by temp gauge in car. That what it is suppose to run at. I have been reading about using lower rated thermostat such as 180• or 160•. The fan motor comes on at 217• what I have been reading is that there will be better performance at lower temps. Also should fan motor switch be changed to come on at lower temp if I go with lower temp thermostat? I don't know why you would change some thing it was engineered and test to do. Opinions any body.

If your looking for a comfortable ride why did you buy a Vette to begin with?
1. Buy a Buick for interstate driving and just leave the Vette at home.
2. How old are the shocks?
3. If you can't answer number 2 then you need buy new shocks.
Old and worn shocks will make any car ride "rough"
