Passenger Power Window
So - I retrieved my Genuine Service manual with electrical supplement and sat-down to read.
Pulled the door panel off (what a PITA) and could not for the life of me figure how to remove the aluminum panel inside the door to gain access to the motor and connections.
So - I resorted to what a sage mentor on this site said - I smacked the door panel right at the motor, hit the switch and it works.
I know this isn't a long-term fix - so what say you-all - motor problems in the future?? or another issue entirely?
BTW that aluminum panel is called the accessory panel in the FSM. It comes out once you release the guides for the door lock and door handle actuators and remove all screws on it. The first time I pulled one out it was a pita but trust me there is an angle that will let you pull it out w/o bending it.
The motor is the same as is found in some other chevy models (s-10 pickup IIRC) and can be found cheap sold w/o the regulator. It is attached to the regulator with three tubular rivits approx 1" long. You can make up your own rivits like these by using brake line and a brake line flare tool. If you use nuts and bolts instead then you will want to find some flush head bolts those with allen key'd heads work fine and mount the flush head toward the glass and the nuts sticking out the other side.
