Default New seats

Pictures of my new Kirkey pro drag seats. The seats weigh 15 lbs each vs the stock seats which weigh a total of 70 lbs. The 40 lb difference hopefully will make the car faster. More importantly, the belts now go through the back and seat. If the worse case scenario happends, I know I will be as safe as possible. The belts will not stretch and my head will not go through the lexan top.

You will like the way they hold you in place. May take some getting used to, not much cushion there.

Very cool. I think it would be cooler if the backs came off the seat to be used as a stretcher in a worst case scenario.

No Kidding. They are just a little softer than cement

I'm working on a velcro seat back detachment so I won't have to wait for the ambulance in the worst case scenario.

They kind of remind me of those boards used to immobilize/carry players off the football field!

Do you sit lower? More headroom, I hope?

How much faster do they make your car? 1/2sec?

40 lbs is worth spending money for. Scattershield weighs that much!!

All that stuff adds up in the quest for lower et.

Love my Kirkey. Though the RR might have a bit more padding. (I suppose I might as well...)

I had them installed pretty much in the same position as the stock seat. I lowered it maybe 1/2" over stock to allow for more headroom. A 40 lb saving should make the car 4 hundreths faster. Not much, but every bit helps. Willie

I haven't scaled it lately. A few years ago it was 3050. Now probably just below 3000.

Hi Brian, not bad. When you plop in from the side, you definitely want to slow it down a little. There is not much padding above the aluminum. Fit and finish is terrific. I got the 16" seats which fit me perfectly, 6', 174lbs. If you are bigger, 17" seats will fit in the car.

Keep this sort of thing up Willie and soon we will be talking 9 second ET's and chassis certification

See you at infineon Raceway Saturday, weather is looking good per the weather bureau for 2 days of some great drag racing.

PS You had better bring Lonny with you else the wrath of the damn track announcer will come down on you...

Those are nice Willie, what's the bracket for that's attached to the rollbar behind your seat?

Thanks Tim. That's a 3/4" bar that my chassis guy tigged to the harness bar to support the seatback as per NHRA rules.
