Hey Gang,
I removed the brake booster from my '85. Would like to bump up to a slightly bigger master cylinder to get a little less pedal effort, but don't want to disassemble the stock unit to measure the bore.
Anybody happen to know he bore diameter on the factory units?
Increasing the MC bore diameter decreases the hydraulic ratio. Brake pedal travel will be reduced however additional force on the pedal will be required to stop the vehicle in a comparible distance.
For less pedal effort the MC bore size will need to be reduced which will increase the hydraulic ratio at the expense of longer pedal travel.
Suggest an 84 MC with bore size .8125 (13/16).
