So I posted here awhile back, asking for help re-hooking up a TV cable to a crossfire, which I thought was successful, but I must have done something wrong, as the transmission isn't shifting correctly at all now in drive.
One thing that strikes me as odd as can be seen in the following picture, is the cable is pulled out at an angle.
I tried doing a TV cable adjustment procedure, the cable did go back, however when going forward to full throttle, there was never any type of the normal clicking sound.
I'm pretty much 100% certain that I've just done something wrong here, as the transmission has had no issues, and was rebuilt before I picked up the car.
The TV cable is not attached to the correct place on the throttle body lever. It should be on the silver stud. There is a teardrop shaped plastic piece on the end of the TV cable that hooks over the silver stud. I suspect it's missing and the end of the cable is kluged onto the throttle body lever. You need a new TV cable.
Here's mine (disconnected). There is a "pocket" on the back of the plastic piece that hooks over the stud:

Thanks Cliff, that of course explains a lot, and is kinda what I expected from having worked with other TV cables in the past, yet indeed the cable has no normal black connector on it. Which makes me wonder how it has been working..
I suppose installing a new TV cable is going to be a painful experience, without a lift and such.
^Actually, it is an easy job......you will need a jack from Harbor Freight $75 and jack stands in order to get under the car.......if you own a C4 you'll HAVE to spend the money for a jack and stands......there is just no way around it unless you plan to write a check every time it drips oil....
Back on topic, the hardest part is getting that loop in the tranny lifted up out of it's hole to attach to the cable.
The other confusing part is where the top (pictured above) hooks....it's right in the middle of the two throttle bodies and kinda hard to see, and not intuitive as to where you would think it hooks.
String the cable any old way down to the tranny (avoid the exhaust)
Hook the bottom first and then come up top and click the pictured black fitting onto the clip......'
It'll take you about half an hour to figure it all out and then 5 minutes to actually attach the thing.
