Default 1989 Corvette does this work?

I was just wondering buying one of these is a good idea or not. It does not cost much and from what I read in it's description it is good, but you know how descriptions are sometimes.

I would like to know if it actually works or not please let me know.

I don't think I would buy it. It looks like there is a wire in and a wire out from the pictures. It messes with IAT signal.
Not to mention the C4 and C5 computers are fricken universes apart. I'd get a custom chip honestly. It costs more, but it's not some fleabay super-whamadine piece of crap.

You forgot to link it btw.

Where could I get a good custom chip.

Also do you know any places that sell a good bolt on turbo kit for a 1989 corvette or a good super charger kit?

Worthless garbage. 13-15HP? Don't think so. It looks like it does nothing more than "fool" the ECM into thinking the engine is at WOT and causes the ECM to go open loop.

There are vendors that sell superchargers and turbo systems for C4's. But expect to pay thousands for a good system. Then figure a couple thou more for the install. The Vortec supercharger for my C5 was around $5600 installed. But you will need a good tune along with a good exhaust system including headers and a free-flowing exhaust.

There are vendors that will build a custom chip based on the mods you will don when you install a power adder. Just make sure the engine is in good condition.

Do some research here - for an L98 you are not going to get much from just a chip.
You need to set goals and a budget.
L98s' see a small increase in performance from a few simple things, after that it gets much more expensive.

Open the air filter lid - helped a little on my old 88
remove the frisbee - helped a little on my old 88
switch to synthetic oil - helped a little on my old 88

these three things showed about 6 rwhp increase on my old 88
Well I also cleaned the radiator, changed the other fluids, new plugs, wires, cap

Didn't get a chance to replace the exhaust manifolds with long tube headers and a true dual exhaust. The ex-wife sold it one of the many reasons she is the ex

It says it adjusts the signal from the IAT (Intake Air Temperature -- also known as MAT, Manifold Air Temperature) sensor. In my car (which has the same ECM as the '89) the ONLY thing the MAT does is control when the EGR valve is ENABLED (not actuated -- enabled). The MAT has to be above 0.5 degrees F before the ECM will turn on the EGR (when various other conditions are met, mainly MPH and coolant temperature).

Unless you have made significant modifications, no chip will give you real performance improvements.
