Default Key Changes to a Custom Chip

I was getting broken Memcal and ECM codes on my 87, as such I decided to change both even though it is probably just the Memcal. But I am going to program my own chip for the Memcal. I was wondering what I should change on the tune to get better performance. I realize this will depend on my car and I will slowly tune it from the stock bin.

But I was wondering if there is anything that shouldbe changed. I noticed many people lower the fan temp to kick them on earlier, this seems like a good idea to me. Are there any other key settings I should alter to help the engine.

Also what are the environment setting I can turn off? The car is now historic so no more sniffer tests for her.

I searched this as best as I could, but if I missed anything please put links on here so I can read as much as I can.

Thanks!

You can disable the EGR in the chip but its not costing you any power functioning. Smog pump can be deleted too but not any big gains there either. I kept that stuff working until I did the Miniram. At the time there was no way to use an EGR with the Mini.
