where in the world are the mounts on this zf6? my transmission comes up a good 3" at WOT in 1st. nothing LOOKS loose but i have been fooled before. {header collector gasket rattled loose and fell out on a trip to a club when it LOOKED fine} anyway i'm sure it can't be good on anything for my transmission to be jumping up everytime i gas it. where is the most common cause for this? i'm about to start tearing things apart....
90% your problem is loose bolts at the rear of the tranny holding it to the C-beam thing. You have to drop the exhaust to tighten them and it is generally a bitch. I would recommend you tighten the crap out of them. After having dealers do this three times on my car in 3 years, I did myself once three years ago and it hasn't loosened yet.
i'll tear into it in the next day or so when i replace the halfshaft i tore to pieces. i broke a mid america u joint into 2 pieces awhile back, chewed the heck out of the half shaft & wound up taking a spare ujoint & welding into the halfshaft for a get me by till my new/used halfshaft showed up at the door. i swear a lot of parts break when you drive your corvette like a bizatch :blueangel:
