1988 c4 - temp question
im gonna put anotherwater pump on tonight -
but if no coolant comes out of the heater hoses when i start the car again tonight what else could the issue be ?
let me know asap, thanks all
UPDATE - SO OK I TOOK MY HOSE SPRAYED WATER INTO THE BLOCK , THE HOLES WHERE THE WATER PUMP GOES AND WATER COMES OUT OF BOTH SIDES - NOW MY QUESTION IS WHEN I SPRAYED WATER INTO THE HOLE ON THE INTAKE MANIFOLD WHERE THE THERMOSTATE WOULD GO - NO WATER COMES OUT THE HOLES WHERE THE WATER PUMP GOES - SHOULD THERE BE WATER THAT COMES OUT THE HOLES IN THE BLOCK WHERE THE WATER PUMP GOES IF YOU SPRAY WATER INTO THE THERMOSTATE HOLE ?

Yes, if you take the water pump off and fill the thermostat hole in the intake with water, it should run out of the water pump holes. Did your intake manifold gaskets have little metal squares that were installed into the ends of the intake gaskets? If so, you might have the water restricted and the flow would be basically blocked.
