They make self contained LED bulbs for all interior applications but they are a little bigger than regular size bulbs and might not fit in every fixture. The P/O of my car had a "brite" idea and changed some bulbs to higher energy BRIGHTER bulbs that started to melt some of the plastic housings, IDIOT!! I had to change them all, under hood, glove box ect.. The glove box fixture actally started to smoke with that HOT bulb in it. LED's don't get as hot, so it should be ok, but check that out first. Those plastic fixtures are meant for certain bulbs and as usual sometimes things should be left "as is".

Some people just can't read labels, I understand that, wattage and so forth I should have no problem with that but the thing that has me stuck is that I have no clue how to open the light bulb "casing" (you can say) on the door panels. Do I have to dissemble the whole door panel? If so how?

Most of the time, they pry off with a little screw driver, be careful though.

WOW!! That sucks. My lights are fine on the doors so I never had to mess with them, I would've assumed the lens would pry off. Thats crazy to have to take the panel off to change a bulb, I'm gonna have to change that on my car. Nothing a Dremel or small dots of velcro can't fix.

for 90-96, the door panel lights are secured with two clips along the uppermost edge, release with a thin flat bladed screwdriver. They are NOT screwed in.

I have no experience with an '86, or '84-'89 for that matter. Someone else will chime in soon, I'm sure.

But then again, it does not tell me if I have to disassemble the door panel?

The bulbs in the door panels can be accessed by using a small screwdriver and carefully prying the cover out.
It is only held in place with a couple of nubs, and deflecting it with a screwdriver is all that is needed.
At least, that was all that was needed on my 92.

I'll try that tomorrow morning then, how long does it usually take to receive your package from CorvetteHid or Superbright?

Depends on what shipping you selected.
Generally 5 to 7 days using USPS priority mail.
