Default Battery replacement precautions

I will be replacing the battery in my 1993. Anything I should do to avoid any computer or electrical problems?

I recently had mine out to clean the battery and it's surroundings. I just pulled the "-" lead first, then the "+" lead and finally the panel and battery.

You could plug one of those small battery kits into your lighter to save the radio & clock presets.

Everything should go as normal. Try not to "spring" the fiberglass when removing the side panal.

I took a little extra time when i did mine. I pulled the battery box out and cleaned it. I also washed out the general area with baking soda. Then wire-brushed the frame there. I painted the area with a corrosion preventive paint and then topped it off with the black frame paint. Since I own a 90 I removed the DERM and cleaned under it and used dielectric grease under it. I also cleaned all the wiring connections and made sure all was well before putting the fender (if you can call it that) back on.

Good Luck,

V
