I posted awhile back that my cigarette lighter wasn't working. I found the fuse for it and thought that would fix it (was fryed). I also took it completly apart and cleaned all contacts etc. Stil not working! could the lighter itself be bad? I need to get this working before I get a flat and need my tire pump.
I guess I could always wire the pump with some alligator clips end go straight to the battery but I would realy like to figure it out. the manual gives nothing on checking voltage or any trouble shooting.

Try taking out the fuse and bend in the ground tangs inside the lighter port, theres two of them. Repaired a thousand lighters over the years and I have a dozen laying around as spares. Go the local salvage yard and just pull out a lighter. Do you have power at the port? Check it with a tester, then you know it's the lighter itself. If you want a new one they're pretty cheap in the help section at AutoZone.
WTF! know why didn't I think of that I will do that and see if it's not the part that plugs in being bad. I usualy think of obvious things like that but you got me this time
