No matter how perfect you make the geometry they still go away fast. God I hope thats not the case. lol
HAve to lash them this morning so Ill find out.
Surprised you didn't comment, Ron.
The poetry-like construction of paragraphs even had me thinking of Big Girl. I guess you didn't get the reference?
Feeling poetic today?
(BTW...going at it with a vendor wasn't "look-at-me-girl's" problem. It was the references to high-speed street driving. Like 150mph in the city.)
I had switched back to the stock rockers a while back just to see how noisy they really were. Once I knew what they were doing I put them back on, the injectors have had a stethoscope poked at them so many times it isn't funny but I do know what they sound like.
Now for the good news, problem solved! The internal construction of my aftermarket valve covers were just barely being hit by the pushrod end of the rocker in 3 places on the passenger side and one place on the driver side. It was so slight it has escaped my inspection all this time. The engine is now much quieter with the exception of the chatter of the rockers and the injector clicks which I can live with.
Thanks to all who offered some great advice, I really appreciate it.

Guys I have a problem with my '85 L98 that has me completely baffled. I have had a ticking sound like a loose rocker(s) now for quite some time. I have set the rockers at least a dozen times and have never found one not right. I finally decided it must be a lifter so I bought a complete cam & kit to replace everything. I do NOT just throw money at my car, I wanted to do this change anyway. I have the later aluminum 128 heads on my car which have the small pushrod holes & guide plates. I am running a set of the old Crane Energizer non-self aligning full roller rockers 1.6 ratio that are in perfect condition and I have set preload anywhere from 1/4 to 1 full turn. At 1 full turn the car would not even start. Anyway, after the cam change along with new lifters, springs, retainers, & locks I still have this damn noise. I have even changed back to the stock rockers but the noise is still there. I have also checked pushrod length and installed proper length p-rods. Any ideas at all??
does it go away with the water at 180 and the oil around the same temp? lots of forged piston, exhaust leaks, excessive valve lash, etc noise/ticking/tapping, hissing/spitting/rattling/knocking/slapping. go away because of expansion... my 1cents
One day you must run your 1989 M6 383 AFR195 Vette down the the 1320.
Greenwood kit, cowl hood, paint job is nice Greg.
But will it actually run.
chassis dyno numbers mean nothing when it comes time to race.
saying that you did not build your vette to race is a bad excuse.
Means that you scared to loose.
Its what makes a car guy a MAN.
Run what you Brung & Drag Race.
If I am a girl, my Vette is a girl, a 70-1/2 TA likewise.
You have absolute no worries.
You win till you run down the 1320 against me.
BIG GIRL exists.
A Late friends 572ci BBC 81 Vette. Real special Vette.
Put away.
Most prized.
70-1/2 TA M4, never leave 3rd gear.
You will lose Greg.
